Narrative Description of Project: Urbanization and national economic development are considered to be closely and positively associated processes, with complex and mutually reinforcing links. Urban areas are also considered to be highly vulnerable to climate change impacts including intensified and more frequent natural hazards which may deter economic growth. In the march towards sustained economic growth, social development and climate resilience, it is essential for Bangladesh to develop its urban areas. These urban centers are the places of agglomeration of economic activities, important hubs of production, processing, innovation and employment and also the provider of the economies of scale.
