A series of programs are being undertaken by the government to prepare Master Plans for pourashavas to help overcome its development problems through planned development. Under District Towns Infrastructure Development Project (DTIDP) of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), a master plan was prepared for Patuakhali Pourashava for the period of 2010 - 2030. The current project is an attempt by LGED to prepare a revised Master Plans for Patuakhali pourashavas under PPMFIDP project. The Master Plan consists of Structure Plan, Land Use Plan, Transportation and Traffic Management Plan, Drainage and Utility Services Plan, Environmental and Disaster Management Plan, Urban Services Plan, and Financial Investment Plan. It includes resilience as a driving factor in preparing the policies of the Structure Plan.
