Bangladesh is facing the pressure of rapid increase of urban population but the development scenario of the Upazilas shows a very grave state. In such a situation, LGED has taken initiatives to prepare Master plan or Urban area Plan with the purpose of providing development guidance on the basis of the strategies set by the structure plan. 223 Paurashavas has been selected on the basis where most of the urban development activities expected to take place over the next 20 years and brought under 12 packages. The project has been designed to provide consultancy services in the preparation of Structure Plan, Land use Plan, Traffic and Transportation Management Plan, Drainage and Environmental Management Plan, Ward Action Plan.
