Bangladesh Railway has considerable prime land available in major cities and townships, which are capable of earning revenues through systemizing its land administration and management. The main objective of this project is the identification and documentation of all the assets and preparation of a land use plan. This project is some sort of pilot project whose ultimate aim is to prepare a Land Use Master Plan later. The major tasks involved in this project are documentation of all lands and structures of railway, assessment of future land requirements for railway’s own purposes and development of policies and procedures to lease out the railway land on a commercial basis for considerable revenue generation.
