On request by the Govt. Of Bangladesh the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has conducted a preparatory study for the Rupsha Bridge. As an important component of the the IEE will take into account all measures to safeguard or minimize any harmful effects likely to happen by the bridge construction. Similarly the ISIA will take recognition of all social effects likely to arise from the project. Screening of environmental effects and early awareness of social effects in accordance with the JICA Guidance will ensure better planning and smooth implementation of the project.
