TA 6504 REG: Improving Connectivity & Destination Management of Cultural & Natural Resources in the South Asia Sub-region (Package T2 BANGLADESH)

ADB and the member countries comprising Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka of South Asia Sub-regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Tourism Working Group (TWG) have recognized the need for cooperation in tourism & integrated development of connectivity and destination infrastructure in multi-country tourism circuits under the South Asia Regional Cooperation Strategy and Program 2006-2008. The purpose of developing multi-country tourism circuits is to link the complementary and contiguous tourism attractions of countries in the sub-region that individually may not be sufficient to attract high levels of international arrivals. ADB has therefore already initiated the processing of the proposed sub-regional investment project titled `Improving Connectivity and Destination Infrastructure for Sub-regional Tourism Development.’ The proposed TA is the part of that.
