Master Plan is a vital part for establishment like Cantonment. Absence of Master Plan not only hampered undertaking development projects by Cantonment Board but also led to imbalance and unwanted spatial development. With a view to ameliorate all the development problems, Cantonment Board has decided to prepare a Master Plan for Alikadam Cantonment to ensure a planned and balanced development for the next 20 years. Alikadam cantonment has an important and strategic value, as it is located very short distance from Bangladesh Myanmar border. The assigned Cantonment Master Plan presents the development issues, deficiency analysis and a management framework outlining strategies and guidelines for future growth. The plan provides a distinctive thrust for introducing enabling rather than restrictive regulatory mechanisms through realistic planning and management interventions within the overall regulatory and institutional framework.
