At present around 23% population of Bangladesh live in urban areas but the Zila and District Town have become failure to satisfy peoples demand and development scenario has been deteriorating over time.. In such a situation, LGED has taken initiatives to update Master plan or Urban area Plan with the purpose of providing development guidance on the basis of the strategies set by the structure plan. 23 Paurashavas has been selected on the basis where most of the urban development activities expected to take place over the next 20 years. The master plan will include Land use Plan, Transportation and Traffic Management Plan, Drainage and Environmental Management Plan and Ward Action Plan.
